Rules
House, Dock, and Ground Rules
Club grounds, including the Picnic Shelter, are for use only by members and accompanied guests, by reciprocal guests and by other boating groups as prearranged.
Restrictions set by our Conditional Use Permit from the County require that no outdoor activities take place after 10 p.m., and that there be no rental of club facilities. In this spirit, for example, a member's birthday party, or private barbecue, or family reunion is allowed, but use is not allowed for weddings (except those of a member or his/her children), or by non-boating organizations to which a member belongs, or by church groups.
Applications for use of grounds or picnic shelter must be made to the Commodore and a written contract will be required for a group of more than 25.
Applicants are expected to leave facilities at least as clean as found, and to remove their garbage. A cleanup deposit may be required.
Members who fail to comply will be sent cleanup bills, and may be restricted in future use.
There is parking for club functions and member's private groups. West Sound Community Hall renters may park by prearrangement.
There will be no overnight parking of member's cars or boats on the property.
The dock is for the use of OIYC members, their guests and members of reciprocal clubs. Dock rules are posted.
The Yellow Zone on the east side of the OIYC dock may be used by reciprocals when no OIYC members are present. Reciprocals must yield to any OIYC member.
Rafting is expected. The dock rules are posted.
The entire dock is reserved for OIYC members for Opening Day, the first weekend in May, and for the Round the County Race, the second weekend in November.
There is an OIYC ONLY section for local members. Off-island members and guests of members may moor as reciprocals. Boats should be identified by an OIYC burgee, reciprocal burgee, or an OIYC member's name in port.
Each moorage should be limited to two days.
Bathrooms will provide hot water during the boating season with an honor system collection box for $1 per shower. The bathroom hallway will be under combination lock during the boating season.
The current year's combination is in the OIYC Annual and can be obtained from reciprocal club Corresponding Secretaries.
