Opening Regatta

UW

Final Results
Sailors were welcomed to Sail Sand Point in Seattle
with light wind and some rain. We started racing at 10:45 in a 3-5 kt
SE breeze. After 2 races in A, the wind built to 5-6 kts. We were
able to complete 6 races in A-division and 5 races in B-division before the
wind shut off. Sailors took advantage of on the water coaching from UW
sailors. The UW sailors also debriefed after each set back at the dock.
The spirit of this regatta was to provide a learning opportunity that got the
maximum number of people sailing. Teams were mixed, and some sailors
sailed in both fleets. The results do not reflect this. Thanks to
all teams who accommodated new sailors and made this event a success.
A huge thanks to all nine teams who made the trip to Seattle
to sail. Also, thanks to Sail Sand Point for the use of their facilities.
Thanks to the Bainbridge Island
sailing team for bringing an additional 8 FJ's so we
could have a 22 boat fleet. And Thanks to North Kitsap
